To grow into the multifaceted healer and therapist that I have become, I began my journey into the world of alternative lifestyles and healing at the age of 14 with the science of yoga. Yoga for me has been a lifelong practice in understanding human energy movement, philosophy and personal development. Yogic lifestyle includes physical movement, breath work, diet, meditation, positive thinking and relaxation. I took my first yoga teaching certificate at Yoga centre Toronto in 1987 and have studied with many prominent international yoga teachers.
I studied various styles of ethnic dance which lead me to a professional dance career in 1977 under the artistic name "Badia Star". After many years of performance I began teaching and choreographing for my small dance company and other professional dancers. I also found that teaching dance as an alternative fitness without focus on performance provided physical and mental health benefits for many people.
In 1987 while attending Shiatsu School of Canada, I explored various forms of martial arts including Qi Gong and Tai Chi, as well as Chinese Five Element and Meridian theory. I studied the basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine including tonic herbs, acupuncture, energy healing as well as physiology, anatomy, diet, nutrition and psychology in both western and eastern theory.
I am a student of Vedanta philosophy and well established in various meditation techniques which I practice daily and include in my teachings.
After many years of international travel and cultural study, I became a Certified Fitness Instructor, Yoga Instructor, Yoga Therapist, Zen Shiatsu Master and Usui Reiki Master.

It is my goal to take the most practical aspects of this combined knowledge, simplify and demystify it for the person wishing to live with minimal health concerns. I believe that I teach with clarity, I keep the processes practical, comprehensive and enjoyable, using updated methods supported by scientific research. I feel I am a living testimony for all that I share and I am committed to helping others reach their highest potential for living a healthy, happier life.

Through healing myself, loved ones and clients with these dynamically interconnected practices I have strengthened my faith in the body’s inherent ability to heal itself, along with positive thinking, conscious lifestyle choices, diet and natural therapies.
It is my philosophy that people can and should take responsibility for their personal well being by learning preventative health care and methods for self care in times of need.
I have over 30 years of experience teaching yoga to people in groups as well as individuals of all ages from children to the elderly, people of all abilities from athletes to those with sedentary lifestyles. I have had much success helping those with severe arthritis, back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder and joint replacements.
I have helped to relieve muscle spasms, chronic tension, joint aches and pains with Shiatsu therapy and help relieve migraine pain and stress related illnesses with Reiki.
People tell me that they have increased vitality, sleep better and feel more confident in their ability to take control over their personal wellbeing using the practices I have provided.
